eBay Seller Fees Calculator (2026 Rates)
The only free calculator with eBay's full category table — every tier, every threshold, dated and sourced.
How eBay seller fees work
eBay's fee book is the biggest in resale: 46 category tiers across two seller schedules, each with its own rate and thresholds. Most "eBay fee calculators" online use one flat percentage (and one popular one still double-counts a PayPal fee that hasn't existed for years). This eBay seller fees calculator runs the complete official table — pick your exact category in the dropdown and the arithmetic shows itself line by line.
The two parts of every sale
Every eBay sale pays a final value fee (a category-based percentage of the order total) plus a per-order fee of $0.30 on orders up to $10 and $0.40 above. That's the whole mandatory stack — there is no separate payment processing charge, because eBay's managed payments are already inside the final value fee.
The fee base everyone gets wrong
eBay's percentage applies to the total amount of the sale — item price, shipping charged to the buyer, and the sales tax eBay collects from the buyer. Sellers routinely price off the item price alone and wonder why the fee is bigger than expected. On a $99 item with $12 shipping and 8% tax, the base is $119.88 — so the 13.6% fee is $16.30, not $13.46. This calculator includes the tax field in the advanced inputs precisely because that $2.84 gap is real money at volume.
There is no PayPal fee anymore
Before managed payments, sellers paid eBay's fee and PayPal's 2.9% + $0.30 separately. That era ended years ago — yet the top-ranking fee calculator for eBay still adds a PayPal line on top, overstating every estimate by about 2.7%. If you're sanity checking us against another tool and ours is lower: that's not us being generous, that's them being retired.
Category tiers change everything
"Most categories" pay 13.6% up to $7,500 and 2.35% above it — but books, movies, and music run 15.3%, guitars and basses 6.7%, jewelry 15% up to $5,000 then 9%, watches drop to 3% on the top slice, NFTs are a flat 5%, and sneakers over $150 pay 8% with no per-order fee at all. Heavy equipment flips to 3%/0.5%. The full table is below — forty-six rows of it, straight from eBay's fee page and verified on 2026-10-14.
Store subscribers pay less
A Basic Store ($27.95/month) drops most categories to 12.7% with the threshold at $2,500 instead of $7,500, plus 1,000 free listings. Whether the subscription pays for itself is pure arithmetic: 0.9% of your monthly GMV versus $27.95. The tier selector in the calculator shows both schedules — run your average sale under each and multiply by volume.
Listing fees and the optional extras
You get 250 free fixed-price listings a month without a store ($0.35 each after). Optional upgrades — promoted listings (a percentage you choose, in the advanced inputs above) and the 1.65% international fee — apply only when you opt in. Everything optional is off by default here, so the result you see is the true floor.
eBay fees vs other marketplaces
At 13.6% + $0.40, eBay sits between Mercari's flat 10% and Poshmark's 20% for typical price points — but its audience depth and auction format often recover the difference on collectibles and premium items — and sneakers over $150 (8%, no per-order fee) are a quiet cheat code for that category alone. The strip under your result prices the same item on four alternatives, and the all-platform comparator runs the full ten.

FAQ
How much does eBay take from a $100 sale? ▾
In most categories, for a seller without a store: 13.6% of the order total ($13.60) plus a $0.40 per-order fee — $14.00 total, so you keep $86.00. High-value items drop to 2.35% on the portion above $7,500, and store subscribers pay 12.7% in most categories.
Does eBay charge a payment processing fee on top? ▾
No. Since managed payments, processing is inside the final value fee — there is no separate PayPal or card charge. Any calculator that adds 2.9% + $0.30 "for PayPal" is double-counting a fee eBay retired years ago and will overstate your fees.
What did eBay change in its 2026 fee update? ▾
The February 2026 seller update raised the base final value rate from 13.25% to 13.6% in most categories and set the per-order fee at $0.30 for orders up to $10 and $0.40 above. The full change is on our changelog with the official source.
Do eBay Store subscribers pay lower fees? ▾
Yes. Basic Store and higher pay 12.7% instead of 13.6% in most categories (plus different caps and bigger free-listing allotments), at $27.95/month or less annually. The store tier selector in the calculator shows both schedules exactly.
How many free listings do I get on eBay? ▾
250 free fixed-price listings per month without a store ($0.35 each after that). Stores get 250–100,000 depending on tier. Listing fees are charged whether or not the item sells; final value fees apply only when it does.
