eBay & PayPal Fee Calculator (2026)
There is no separate PayPal fee on eBay anymore — here's your real combined cost, computed exactly.
The short answer: one fee, not two
If you searched for an "eBay and PayPal fee calculator," you learned eBay fees in the era when sellers paid eBay's final value fee and PayPal's 2.9% + $0.30 separately. That second fee no longer exists. Since eBay completed managed payments in 2021, payment processing lives inside the final value fee — one percentage (13.6% in most categories) plus one small per-order fee. The calculator above computes that single, current structure. Every number below is verified against eBay's official fee page and dated 2026-10-14.
What the combined fee actually is
Today's eBay charge on a sale is: final value fee (a category-based percentage of the total order amount — item + shipping + the sales tax eBay collects) plus a per-order fee of $0.30 up to $10 or $0.40 above it. That percentage already includes card processing. On a $50 order with $5 shipping and 8% tax, the fee base is $59.40 and eBay takes $8.48 — that is the complete, real cost. The old model would have shown roughly $6.24 to eBay plus $1.76 to PayPal; the merge didn't just combine the bills, it changed the total — and the old habit of quoting them separately is exactly how double-counting crept into every unmaintained calculator.
Why so many calculators still get this wrong
The most-visited eBay fee calculators were built before or during the managed-payments migration, and their maintainers moved on. The top-ranking one still lists "PayPal 2.7% + $0.25" as a separate deduction — double-counting a fee eBay absorbed, and overstating every estimate by about 2.7 percentage points. If you're comparing tools and our number is lower, that's the correction you're seeing. eBay's own fee page (linked in the badge under every result) is the tie-breaker. Three answers exist for the same $75 order on the web right now: the careful old one (~$12.06), the broken stacked one (~$15.06), and today's real one ($12.59) — only one matches your statement.
Worked example: the $75 order, both eras
Same sale, two rulebooks. A $75 item with $8 shipping and 8% tax is an $89.64 order. Today's model: 13.6% of $89.64 plus $0.40 — $12.59 total, you keep $83.00 minus your shipping cost. The old two-fee model (what outdated calculators still show): roughly 10% FVF to eBay plus 2.9% + $0.30 to PayPal — about $12.06 — but the broken tools don't even compute that; they stack today's 13.6% with the dead PayPal fee and report ~$15.06, scaring you by $2.50 per order. If your calculator shows a PayPal line for an eBay sale in 2026, it's not being careful with your money — it's running on a fee structure from another decade.
What PayPal still does on eBay
PayPal remains one of the checkout methods eBay buyers can use — but that's the buyer's choice, processed inside eBay's system, with no separate seller cost. If you also sell on your own site, PayPal's standard gateway rates apply to those sales; keep the two ledgers separate when you model. For anything sold through eBay.com, the calculator above is the complete answer.
eBay's real fee vs the resale platforms
With the PayPal ghost removed, eBay's 13.6% + $0.40 lands between Mercari's flat 10% and Poshmark's 20% — and drops further at high prices (2.35% on the portion above $7,500) or with a store subscription (12.7%). The strip under your result prices the same sale on four alternatives.

FAQ
Does eBay still charge a PayPal fee in 2026? ▾
No. Since managed payments (completed 2021), payment processing is inside eBay's final value fee. Sellers pay one 13.6%-class percentage plus $0.30/$0.40 per order — there is no separate PayPal 2.9% + $0.30 line. Any calculator adding one is double-counting.
What happened to PayPal on eBay? ▾
eBay moved all sellers to its own managed payments system by 2021. Buyers can still pay with PayPal at checkout, but the seller-side processing fee that used to go to PayPal now lives inside the final value fee. The combined cost is typically lower than the old two-fee stack.
Why does my eBay fee look higher than the old PayPal-era math? ▾
Two reasons: the final value fee now includes payment processing (so it reads higher than the old "FVF-only" number), and it's calculated on the total order amount including shipping and sales tax. If an old calculator shows less, it's probably missing both adjustments.
Is there any case where PayPal fees still apply to eBay sales? ▾
Not for US marketplace sales. If you sell on your own website with PayPal as the gateway, PayPal's standard rates apply there — but that's a PayPal transaction on your site, not an eBay fee.
