How Poshmark fees work

Poshmark's fee structure is the simplest in resale — two numbers, unchanged for years. It's also one of the most expensive, and the flat fee under $15 quietly punishes cheap items. This Poshmark fee calculator shows both tiers with the official rates, verified and dated above.

The two numbers: $2.95 under $15, 20% at $15 or more

Every sale falls into exactly one of two tiers. Orders below $15 pay a flat $2.95 commission. Orders of $15 or more pay 20% of the sale price. That's the complete seller fee — no listing fee, no payment processing line, no monthly subscription, no per-order fixed charge. Poshmark bundles payment processing, buyer protection, and its prepaid-label shipping system into the commission.

What "no other fees" actually means

When a guide says Poshmark has "no other fees," it means the commission is the only platform charge deducted from your sale. Two things still cost you money outside it: shipping discounts (when you send an offer with reduced or free shipping, the label subsidy comes out of your payout) and your time packing — the prepaid label itself is paid by the buyer, not you. Neither shows up as a "fee" on your statement, but both hit net earnings the same way.

The $15 cliff, and how to price around it

The tier boundary creates resale's strangest pricing quirk. Sell at $14.99 and Poshmark takes $2.95, leaving you $12.04. Sell at $15.00 and it takes $$3.00, leaving you $12.00 — a penny less for a higher price. The dead zone runs until the 20% fee drops below $2.95, which happens at $14.75… in other words, never price between $10 and $15: either stay at $14.99 and accept the flat fee, or jump to $15+ where 20% beats it. Better still, bundle: two $8 items sold together at $16 pay $3.20 total instead of $5.90 apart. That single habit is worth more than any other Poshmark fee trick.

Why cheap items hurt on Poshmark

The flat $2.95 is 29.5% of a $10 sale and 49% of a $6 sale — before any shipping subsidy. Poshmark's model simply isn't built for sub-$15 inventory; that merchandise belongs on Mercari (10% flat) or Depop (~3.8% all-in). The comparison strip below the calculator result makes this visible on your actual numbers.

One regional footnote

Sellers based in Texas will see a small Texas Seller Fee Tax line on their statements — a state tax on marketplace fees, not a Poshmark rate change. It applies to the fee, not to your item price.

Worked example: three price points

At $8, Poshmark takes $2.95 and you keep $5.05 (63%). At $25, it takes $5.00 and you keep $20.00 (80%). At $100, it takes $20.00 and you keep $80.00 (80%). The effective rate collapses from 37% to a flat 20% the moment you cross $15 — which is why experienced Poshers treat $15 as the absolute floor and $25+ as the real working range for the platform. Type your own price points into the calculator; the jump at the threshold is impossible to miss, and the comparison strip will usually suggest a better home for anything cheaper.

Poshmark fees vs other platforms

At 20%, Poshmark is the most expensive major resale platform per sale: on $50 you keep $40, versus $42.80 on eBay, $45 on Mercari, and $47.90 on Depop. What you're buying with that cut is Poshmark's social distribution and dead-simple logistics. If fees decide the platform, run the same item through the all-platform comparator — and if it's under $15, don't sell it on Poshmark at all.

FAQ

How much does Poshmark take from a $50 sale? ▾

20% — $10.00, so you keep $40.00. There are no other seller fees: no listing fee, no payment processing charge, no per-order fixed amount.

How much does Poshmark take from a $10 sale? ▾

The flat $2.95 commission for sales under $15 — you keep $7.05, an effective rate of about 29.5%. The flat fee makes cheap items disproportionately expensive to sell; bundling two $8 items into one $16 order drops the effective rate to 20%.

Does Poshmark charge listing or payment processing fees? ▾

No. Listing is free and unlimited, and there is no separate processing fee. The $2.95-or-20% commission is the entire seller-side fee. Poshmark bundles payment processing, buyer protection, and its prepaid shipping-label system into that cut.

Can I lower the 20% — through Posh Ambassador status or volume? ▾

No. Poshmark's commission is the same for every seller regardless of tenure, volume, or Ambassador status, and it has been unchanged for years. The only lever is the $15 threshold: keep individual orders at $15 or more so the 20% rate applies instead of the flat $2.95.

How current are these Poshmark rates? ▾

Rates on this page were verified on 2026-10-14 against Poshmark's official support center. The $2.95 / 20% structure has been stable for years — when it ever moves, our changelog will carry it within days.
